Telegram Expands Toncoin (TON) Wallet Access to U.S. Users, Integrating Native Crypto Services

Telegram Messenger LLC has officially launched its TON-based crypto wallet for U.S. users, embedding the functionality directly into the app's settings and messaging interface. Developed by The Open Platform, this self-custodial wallet eliminates the need for browser extensions and supports Toncoin—which offers staking rewards—alongside TON-based tokens like USDT.

Following successful adoption in Russia, the EU, and Asia with over 100 million users, the U.S. rollout targets Telegram's 87 million monthly active users. Andrew Rogozov, CEO of Wallet in Telegram, emphasized the wallet's seamless peer-to-peer transfers and integration with TON-native DeFi and Web3 applications as key growth drivers.

This expansion marks a strategic effort to mainstream digital asset ownership, leveraging Telegram's global reach of 1 billion users. The announcement did not reference direct exchange integrations or additional cryptocurrencies.
